There’s no where else Like the Stonehouse...

We specialize in all kinds of functions - Private/Corporate/Wedding/Anniversary/Birthday Party/Conference etc.

For Functions, we provide Venue, Tables, Chairs, Staff, Catering Food and Beverages. Our friendly Functions Coordinator will be able to plan with you to ensure that your Function is a success.  

We hold three dining sections which operate at the same time. Our Restaurant  the Mission   House   Building (one of the sections) can seat up to 80 guests and can provide Canapas Functions with up to 200 guests. Otherwise our Cafe Area (another 2 sections) can seat up to 200 guests and can provide canapas functions for up to 500 people. 

There are dance floors available in both areas.

We offer three different Function concepts to choose from for your Function:

·    Formal Dining (canapas on arrival followed by entree/main/dessert/tea/coffee)

·   Canapas (for those functions that are more of a "party" nature)

·     Buffet.

  Please Note --  Mecca Stonehouse Menus can change from time to time. Please discuss your menu with our Function Coordinator or Restaurant Manager. A Venue Hire Charge may apply based on the size of your function .

Bonjour a tous!

 

We survived the hibernation!!! ...after a few months underground the Winehot plan to end up the year "comme des malades" (like crazy). We will party on in spite of the doom and gloom.

 

Starting on Thursday 20th November with the worldwide first release of the Beaujolais Nouveau. NZ is the first to taste the new vintage and it’s a good excuse to party on a school night. We expect the wine to match perfectly with our Beef Cheeks Bourgignon but as it can only be tasted on the 20th you will have to come and try for yourself.

 

Congrats to the winner of the Carchello Spanish wine Gabriel

We will be giving away a bottle of Champagne for November and one for December so make sure you are in to drop your business card in the draw.

 

Only 55 shopping days to Christmas....and when you are sick of it remember that Winehot will be open throughout the holiday break including Boxing Day and New Years Eve. We will be taking dinner bookings for New Years Eve until 8.30pm and after will be open until 1am, so drop in for a glass and nibbles.

‘New look, New chef, New menu for Tatler’

 

T his week iconic Queenstown restaurant Tatler launches its new face. Long-time local Rob Hope has come on board as Executive Chef of the Tatler/Prime/12Bar group and has released a summer menu featuring local and regional delicacies of venison, fish and beef, as well as some innovative vegetarian dishes. A house-specialty is freshly-caught salmon smoked personally by Rob in the Tatler kitchen and partnered with strawberries and mint.

K enyan-born Rob has cooked for owner Mark Jessop before – the two worked together when Mark owned Winnies in the 90s. Rob moved on to open his own restaurant in Christchurch , Sumner’s Wakefield ’s, before returning to Queenstown as Millbrook’s executive chef. He jokes that Tatler is getting two for the price of one as his departure from Millbrook has resulted in the resort replacing him with two chefs. With his extensive experience in large-scale and hotel catering, Rob is looking forward to overseeing the group’s busy schedule of upcoming Christmas parties. He comments, “function clients will enjoy our competitively-priced range of dishes they can pick and mix to create their own personalised event menu, or choose one of our Christmas-themed party menus”.

M anager Shane Angel has guided the 145 year old Tatler through a refurbishment inside and out, with a bright, new colour scheme, local artworks, relaxed sofa-style seating and free wireless broadband for patrons. Looking out for its valued local clientele, Shane points that that “with Tatler’s  $10 special lunch menu, loyalty points and coffee cards, a lunch out needn’t cost any more than a takeway at your desk, and it’ll be served to you with a smile.” He also reminds locals about Tatler’s early-evening special menu with dishes costing no more than $22.50 if ordered between 5 and 6.30pm.

A NEW TUNE LAUNCHES AT MAPUA WHARF

 

As you wander down picturesque Mapua Wharf , you might never know the unique history of this long-loved destination&

 

Mapua Wharf was a local favourite where the vast apple crop production from the Tasman area was shipped. The event of the year, the whole district would turn out for the dances held in the packing shed with music by the Mahana orchestra.

 

Now Mapua wharf will play to a different tune with the launch of a new restaurant called “The Mutton Bird Bistro”.

 

Boasting contemporary Kiwi cuisine using the best of New Zealand ingredients and global flavours, The Mutton Bird Bistro is all about good times, good food, good music and, of course, good friends.

 

Design Consultant, Pauline Evill, worked with the natural character of the old boat shed; the interior evokes coastal Kiwi features, the original timber rafters and ceilings were white washed allowing more light, and a cosy atmosphere is created with old weatherboards and furnishings from a bygone era.

 

With sun, sand and sea at the doorstep and visible at every turn; the picture postcard and iconic location is a destination in itself.

 

 

Chef, Scott Wynn, after several years abroad, has returned to roost at this exciting new restaurant.

 

His emphasis is simple wholesome dishes that change with the seasons, creating the finest food and dishes using fresh, local ingredients at even more palatable prices.

 

Like the ‘good ol’days’, when community events greeted guests from near and far, The Mutton Bird welcomes one and all looking for that special taste of Mapua hospitality.
