Heritage Festival - 20 September - 5 October
Onehunga, one of the oldest settlements in the region, comes alive during the heritage festival kicking off on the 20th September with vintage car rides, horse & cart rides, a town crier and entertainment at St Peters Church plus guided walks.  To find out what's on go to:

Daylight Savings and Long evenings approaching

 

Jaffa Cafe-restaurant-tapas bar will be featuring various vocal artists during the evenings every second Sunday. 

Sunday 19th October - Sunday 2nd November will be the first evenings featuring the wonderful voice of Jason Slade who has a tenor`s voice but range that can cover George Benson, Michael Buble and Pavarotti - a sheer joy to listen to.  No cover charge - absolutely free to all diners that evening at  JAFFA .

 

Also, once a month we will be holding specialty evenings showcasing different food and wine from around the world.  Our first evening was an Italian night with a 7 course meal, lovely Italian wine and good Italian music and was a great success.  The next will be French!

OLDIE BUT A GOODIE

 

Zanelli's Italian Restaurant in Rotorua is celebrating its 22nd year in business which was established in 1986.

The new owners are also celebrating their first successful year of owning Zanelli's and have continued with the classical Italian cuisine enjoyed by many customers over the last 22 years.

- WHATS ON IN THE SOUTH -

 

Busy Bathhouse!

 

The new Bathhouse T-Shirts have arrived!   Created by Queenstown local designer Parker and Stella, the shirts are made from an incredibly soft blend of 70% bamboo and 30% organic cotton. Find out why using bamboo is so environmentally sound on the Parker and Stella website (www.parkerandstella.com).   Shirts are available in all sizes and retail for $45 each.

 

Our free corkage night was such a great success, that we are doing it again this month.   Come join your fellow wine lovers for a beautiful evening at the Bathhouse, enjoy your own bottle of wine at dinner for free on September 24th.

 

And finally, the Bathhouse will be helping Cloudy Bay introduce their new winemaker, Tim Heath and his much anticipated Cloudy Bay 2008 Sauvignon Blanc.   Our chefs have put together a 5 course degustation menu specifically matched to some of Cloudy Bay’s best wines, including the 2008 Sauvignon Blanc.   Tickets are available for the event all month at the Bathhouse and Wine Taste and sell for $125 in advance.   The event will take place on September 30 th at 7:30 pm.

 

Our Local Karma special for the month is a $12 big breakfast, and our locals cards will be accepted all month for 10% off breakfast, lunch and dinner!

 is expecting a busy start to October attending Kaikoura Seafest on October 4 th where they will launch their new Methode Champenoise

 

Then October 8 – 12 hosting the 2008 South Island Chess Championship in their unique underground cellar.

The Mussel Inn reopened for the new season and the sun is shining.

We'll be open every day, except Christmas day, from now until late July 2009.

Reuben has the brewery cranking again and delicious smells are emanating from the kitchen.
