Piatti Italiani is an Italian restaurant situated on the North Shore, Auckland, between Browns Bay and Torbay. Piatti Italiani has been operating successfully for more than 7 years, nestled within Waiake, a beautiful location with a great local and supportive community. Piatti Italiani is a family-run business, operated by father and son team, Alfio and Giancarlo.

Alfio, born to Italian immigrant parents, has always had a passion for traditional, authentic Italian meals. The customs and traditions of Italian life, the aromas and flavours from his mother's kitchen, inspired Alfio to share those experiences with others through his love of Italian food. Piatti Italiani is his place, where he can share this passion, and bring a little of his Italian upbringing to the table.

As a young child visiting his grandparents, Giancarlo's memories are of his nonna's kitchen, where he and his brother would help out in the kitchen. So when his father decided to open Piatti Italiani, Giancarlo was there from the beginning. He supported his father's concept and passion, and has been invaluable to the operations of the business. Giancarlo's main focus is front of house, with a flair for cocktails and specialty coffees, bringing to the table the same drive to succeed and passion as his father.
